CSU Channel Islands' Extended University Biotechnology Program
California State University Channel Islands, located in Camarillo, California, offers a leading-edge, 21st century academic program that equip students with the tools to make significant contributions. Extended University's Dual Biotech MS Biotechnology and MBA Degree
Through its extensive program offerings, CSUCI's Extended University is contributing to teaching and developing future scientific professionals. Its programs include an innovative MS Biotechnology and MBA Dual Degree and a Master of Science degree offered to meet the regional and national needs of a well-educated workforce in the biotechnology industry. The program combines rigorous scientific training in biotechnology with graduate course work and experience in business disciplines. It includes foundational courses to provide a knowledge base for non-biology or non-business undergraduate majors, core courses in both the biotechnology and business disciplines, as well as elective courses on cutting-edge topics. A distinguishing feature of this dual degree program is the culminating project which involves student teams that work on real-world problems and applications of biological sciences to the marketplace as well as application of business strategies in the biotechnology industry.
Certificate Program/Online Courses
Its Certification Programs and Courses include Certificates in Biotechnology and Chemistry. Other programs include degree credit course through its Open University and courses for lifelong learners through its Osher Life Learning Institute.
If you are interested in pursuing a degree, or in taking courses to enhance your skills, Extended University also offers online courses. The courses are led by CSUCI faculty and industry professionals. To meet the needs of working adults, courses are offered evenings, partially online (selected courses), and in accelerated formats. In conjunction with CSU San Jose and San Marcos, Extended University is offering online biology courses designed for continuing, graduate students and professionals. Courses include an Introduction to Biopharmaceuticals and DNA & Protein Sequence Analysis.
